Breathtaking Beta Chapter

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor

In an effort that began the winter semester of 1998, a group of  dedicated women started organizing around a strong desire to bring Sigma Lambda Gamma to the University of Michigan. These women began forming a strong foundation, demonstrating their interest in Sigma Lambda Gamma and becoming a colony.

Beta Chapter is proud to continue the legacy that the founding sisters started many years ago. These women include Desirea Alvarez, Lucy Arellano, Cynthia Carrillo, Ixsy Ramirez, Amanda Rico, Jennifer Rivera, Norma Sanchez, Veronica Sanchez, Aileen Tung and Lily Wu. Alicia Ortez accepted the position of Chapter Advisor.

Beta Chapter is thrilled to see our membership grow in our chapter as well as the nation, welcoming diverse and truly dedicated women into our sisterhood. As we continue to maintain the legacy our founding mothers established, we are proud to provide the University of Michigan campus community a diverse perspective committed to our five principles.

With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to perform our best inside the classroom as a top priority. Sisters nationwide use their academics in order to reach goals that seem impossible. Many SLG sisters attend graduate and professional schools after undergrad.

Hermanas por vida, sisters for life.

"Culture is pride, pride is success."
